Introducing Doggie the fish

We got our first family pet couple of weeks ago. Meet Doggie! Several months ago my sweet great-grandmother, MeMe Eva, passed away. This fish bowl was hers. We finally got around to filling it with a fish. Lane has been soo excited. He loves telling Doggie hi multiple times a day and (over)feeding him!

Bethany is 15 months old!

Last Monday was Bethany Claire's 15 month check-up. She is perfectly healthy! She is 31 1/2 in. long (85%), weighs 21lbs (25%) and has a head circumference of 18 1/4 in. She is tall and skinny! All four of her molars are currently coming in - Yikes! This visit was, by far, the worst as far as shots. She was so mad she turned purple and gave the nurse a rather hateful look! The sweet nurse just kept apologizing!

Generally, though, Bethany is an incredibly happy baby! Here is a video of here when she was just waking up - full of smiles and dancing. (ignore my annoying voice.)

She loves music. Her current favorite activity is story time with Mr. Mac. He is a precious older gentleman that sings, plays guitar and tells stories with puppets. She adores him!

She is also starting to get more into books. She still does not sit and read for long periods of time like Lane did, but she is getting better. She really likes to look at books on her own.

Her favorite cartoon is Mickey Mouse. Her whole face lights up when she hears him sing!

She can say Momma, Dadda, Bubba, Gigi, nini (no no - usually directed toward Lane), and she has started answering questions with yeah (she just ignores you if the answer is no. She only says no if she is fussing at you!)

She has also picked up several of Lane's sound effects. Not sure what I think about my little girl growling like a lion right now, though.

One more picture just because it cracks me up! That corn is as big as her face. :)

Lane

It's hard to believe Lane is 3! Here is what our big boy is up to lately.

-He is currently potty training and doing fantastic! He is great at tee-teeing in the potty as long as he does not have a pull-up on. If he has a pull-up, then it's like he thinks he has a free pass to skip going to the potty. He still wears a pull-up at night and if we are going to be traveling a long distance. He is VERY proud of his Yo Gabba Gabba and Diego undies!
-He LOVES reading, playing puzzles and matching games. He also loves playing on http://www.starfall.com/

-He can sing his ABCs forwards and backwards. (I did NOT teach him how to do his letters backwards. Ha! In fact, when he does ask me to do it with him we only get to u before he tells me to stop. :) My brain does not work in reverse!)

-He can count (most of the time) to 50. Though every time I try to get a video of him counting, he gets to 20 and says, "Hmmm. I'm done countin!" What a stinker! Why won't kids perform on demand ;)

-He can spell Lane, Gigi, Nana, Bo, Mom, Dad, zoo, cat and dog.
-He loves to play pretend. He generally pretends to have phone conversations, cook, go to the store or to a family members house (Gigi & Bo, Nana & Bo, etc)
-He loves to RUN! I know most kids do, but if you ask him what he wants to do it is generally ruuunnnnnnn!
-His favorite place to go is the zoo. He loves zebras, lions and elephants. We go almost weekly! He also loves going to the "wader par" (Alabama Adventure).

-He still loves music and dancing. Favorite song is still Tanya Tucker "Oh what it did to me"
-He loves to drive Papa Rock's truck.
-He is still a terrible eater. We are working on taking a "thank-you" bite. I don't care if he cleans his plate. I just want him to take one bite of the food he is offered. He is expanding the foods he likes. We are making progress -slowly. His favorites are still milk, yogurt, bananas, pancakes, chicken & french fries (with ketchup!), chips and salsa.
-His favorite cartoons are Yo Gabba Gabba, Team Umizoomi, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, Dora/Diego and Curious George.
-He has a sweet heart. He loves Bethany. He loves to be the first one in her room when she wakes up. He greets her with a loud Good Mornin' B! and then they both start giggling.

We are so blessed by Lane. He is truly one of the happiest kids I know. He keeps me laughing(and running). He makes life an adventure! I can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for his life!
